Jack’s First Win as a Class Dog

The second day Jack was shown he won Winners Dog/2 points under Judge Ms. Betsey Leedy.

Jack's show career began at 7 months of age in St. Joseph, MO in January 2002.  He finished his requirements for his AKC championship in April 2002.  In September 2002 he was awarded an Award of Merit at the FBDCA Nationals.  His 2003 campaign as a special began at Westminster Kennel Club, February 10, 2003.  Although he was only campaigned 7 months due to a tragic ulceration of his cornea, he still ranked #4 Breed and #8 All Breed at the end of 2003.

Today Jack reigns King of our household.  He is a true survivor.  After his corneal ulceration that required 6 months to heal, he underwent extensive testing and treatment for allergies.  We were grateful when the “miracle drug” Atopica was introduced into the market for severe allergy management.  In 2004 Jack survived Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.  In 2006 he suffered a ruptured disc and underwent a laminectomy.  Despite extensive medical and surgical management he has endured significant neurological deficits but maintains his independence and mobility with dignity and determination.  Jack was our first French Bulldog and despite his many health issues, he remains the “love of our life” and the King!
